Costa Rica is an amazing place!! Loved the beaches, the people, the lifestyle, being amidst the nature, and the whole experience! Will definitely be going back to see more of the country very soon. Pura Vida!!
Project & Staff
Jaco is a beautiful small beach town. The project was good, the staff and fellow volunteers were very helpful in getting us situated. However, there were some miscommunications and mismatch between what was mentioned in the placement details and what was actually provided to us. The project also was 90% cleaning the area than anything else, which I understand is a big part of the work there and I'm all for working hard, but would have definitely liked it to be a little more balanced - was expecting the work to also involve some learning experience in terms of understanding how to rescue animals and care/ nurse them back to health.
Tips
Be open minded and ready to do some hard work. Try to obtain your project details and ask questions to clearly understand your role in the project, so you can be better prepared and know what to expect.
