project was well run; the team were welcoming. Luang prabang was a wonderful place to be based. Learning English (and Chinese) does give job opportunities.I was a little surprised that pupils have to pay to attend classes (though I do understand that there are a number of scholarship places)
I thought the project would have been more focused on providing access to English lessons for those who couldn't afford them,
Country
beautiful country, and the people were very welcoming. There is clearly a lot of poverty and a lack of opportunities for many.
Project & Staff
Staff were very welcoming. I wondered what it was like for the teachers to have different volunteers in their classrooms. I felt I made a contribution to the lessons.
