I had such a great time as a Medical Intern in Chiang Mai, these 3 weeks were truly amazing! I learned so much through hands-on learning, one on one opportunities with physicians, interacting with the Thailand health system and medical school systems, eating incredibly yummy Thai food, exploring the beautiful surroundings of Chiang Mai and all it has to offer. This experience has fortified my wish to become a physician and along the way I was able to meet some spectacular people that I am happy to call my friends.Country
Thailand is so amazing not only as a country full of so much culture but also as country filled with amazingly sweet people. I was able to explore Thailand in Bangkok and the surrounding cities in Chiang Mai and I can not wait to be able to come back. The food is amazing and especially as someone who loves spicy food this country is perfect especially with how affordable it is. There is so much to see ranging from oceans and mountains.
Project & Staff
Not only are the staff incredible and always willing to help whenever needed, they organize the project thoroughly. The connections with the neighboring hospitals allow for nursing students, premeds and med students, to get the most out of their experience as long as you yourself take the initiative to do the actual work.
Tips
It is important that whatever country you visit whether Thailand for this project or anything else, to learn before you arrive about the customs, what defines respect or disrespect and teach yourself some of the important words, like hello, thank you, etc...
