/ 10I had an amazing time in Ecuador, and it was by far the best trip of my life. I worked in the south part of Quito at a health clinic, which was a remarkable experience. I got to observe doctors and help the nurses. For my first time I saw the birth of a baby. Additionally, I saw so many other incredible things. I want to be a trauma nurse and this clinic definitely showed me what a trauma setting is like. It was also interesting to see how the doctors had to think out of the box when the clinic would run out of supplies.Besides working at the clinic I took Spanish lessons, which greatly improved my Spanish, went on weekend trips with friends I had made, and went to (free) Salsa lessons twice a week. I am so happy I chose to go to Ecuador because the people were all very friendly, I got to see more at the clinic than I‘ve seen in 3 years of nursing school, and I got to explore a new country.
