General Impression
Overall Rating:
/ 10Our time in Nairobi was memorable. Getting to experience the 2 sides of the city with a rural hospital placement during the day and urban outings during the night we were able to see the dichotomy present. It was an incredible undertaking to be able to work along-side the physicians and clinical officers at the government hospital as we made challenging decisions. I was particularly taken aback at the types of choices the local team was forced to make on a daily basis. So lucky to have been able to be inspired by this amazing local team!Country
Kenya was a myriad of adventures. From the safari on the plains of the Masai to the vibrancy of night life in Nairobi to the serenity of the beaches in Mombasa- there's something for everyone. The day to day life is much like home aside from the walk-ability that we lack in rural America. Most things are easily accessible and don't give you a chance to long for home much.
Project & Staff
Our house staff, Faith, was excellent in caring for us. We had 2 meals prepared everyday for us and she helped to keep the home clean and dirt-free. The local team of Marta and Izzo were excellent in communication and meeting our needs no matter what we asked for - adventure, tacos, and safaris. Joseph, our driver, was entertaining and kind.
