Working on the Street Children project in Delhi with kids who lack any material advantages but were the most joyful humans I have ever met has, without doubt, been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!I had never been in a teaching environment before but quickly learnt that helping them with basic English and Maths and just giving them my time has a real value. I hope that my stay there, albeit brief, contributed in some small way to building their confidence and knowledge.
I cannot recommend this experience enough. I am 57 and had some initial wobbles about stepping out of my comfort zone but as soon as I saw dozens of beaming faces on Day One I knew immediately that I had made absolutely the right decision!
